If you are an apparel, footwear, or accessories designer who has decided to launch your own line, there comes a time when you want grow your line. In order to develop better brand awareness and build revenue, you have to increase your product distribution.

Whether you increase product distribution through a wholesale or a direct to consumer strategy, you should participate in local fashion events and national fashion trade shows. One of MAGIC’s shows may be your destination point.

Whether you exhibit at POOL, PROJECT, WWDMAGIC or FN PLATFORM, here are seven tips for success from two industry veterans:

  • Get to know GES. They are a group that sets up booths at MAGIC. GES customer service chat is your best friend. They will quickly answer all of your logistical questions.
  • Make sure you have an eye-catching display and customize your booth with branded visuals. Merchandising is critical to drawing buyers. The show is huge, so buyers can easily miss your booth if you blend in.
  • Bring your boxes back to your hotel after you are done setting up. You don’t want to be stuck doing so on the last day of the show.

  • Schedule and follow up on your confirmed appointments.
  • Educate your sales team on product lines, trend development for the apparel/accessories and make sure they know key selling strategies.
